'Love & Respect' by Emerson Eggerichs

Sarah and Emerson Eggerichs are convinced that a truth hidden in plain sight for 2000 years can make a difference in every marriage. This truth is found in Ephesians 5:33 . Husbands must love their wives, and wives must respect their husbands.

Emerson writes, "You may remember how the Beatles sang, 'All you need is love.' I absolutely disagree with that conclusion. Five out of ten marriages today are ending in divorce because love alone is not enough. Yes, love is vital, especially for the wife, but what we have missed is the husband's need for respect. This Love and Respect message is about how the wife can fulfill her need to be loved by giving her husband what he needs—respect. And the husband can fulfill his need to be respected by giving his wife what she needs—love. Does this always work? No. But if one is married to a person of good will, I would bet the farm that it would work!"

This is beautiful!

(Oh and I'm new to blogger so I don't exactly know where to leave comments about everything, sorry!)

I'm glad that I've gotten the chance to reconnect with you via the net. I'm so thankful for the care and support you've given me.

Also, I wanted to say that it makes me glad to see more young people with strong faith and convictions! I recently did a Mother/Son photo shoot with myself and Elisha (he's got that double portion!, LoL) and I can't wait to send them to Labor of Love along with some 'Thank You' Letters!

Please keep in touch!

Wow, pretty neat how the Lord led you to my blog! Thanks for ALL the sweet and encouraging comments.

It was a loooong night last night, the power was out and it never got cooler than 80 degrees, and one child was down with malaria--and up ever hour to run to the toilet. This morning the power is still out--time to run the generator.

Love from the North,
Summer
